[ROCKWALL,TEXAS, June 2021] – The Rockwall Area Chamber of Commerce host various special events each year to connect area business and community leaders in order to drive the local economy. On Wednesday June 16th, The Rockwall Area Chamber of Commerce hosted the State of the City Luncheon. This was the first luncheon we have had this year and we had an exceptional turn out with about one hundred and sixty attendees. The event was held at LakePointe Church and our host speaker was the City of Rockwall Mayor Kevin Fowler.

The 2021 State of the City Luncheon began with beneficial networking opportunities and lunch service. The program kicking off with Brady Z. Hill as our welcome speaker. Shortly after the Invocation and Pledge commenced and followed by Darby Burkey informing everyone about recent Rockwall Chamber announcements. City of Rockwall Mayor Kevin Fowler started the presentation upon Darby’s conclusion. His presentation was very informative, detailed, and professional with a hint of light heartedness. Overall, he was an outstanding speaker and his genuine and kind personality was apparent in his delivery. The attendees truly enjoyed the presentation.

Mayor Kevin Fowler made everyone feel welcome and spread positivity throughout the room. He began with announcement of our City Council and Leadership, explained our Ten Years of Growth, furthered everyone’s knowledge about Tax Dollars (which we are at the lowest rate in 15 years), recognized the Police and Fire Department as well as Public Work Heroes and thanked them for all they do to assist in making our community safe.

Mayor Kevin Fowler continued the presentation with explanation of the REDC which is bringing in great business and will further prosperity. He also informed attendees about exciting projects that are in the works; Discover Art Project, Flagpole Project, and the I-30 Expansion. In addition, Mayor highlighted all that Rockwall has to offer for our residents as well as for visitors. The Harbor continues to grow with new business and revitalization, Historic Downtown Rockwall has become a popular destination with many local shops and restaurants and events such as the Farmers Market and the San Jacinto Plaza Music Series, our Parks are expanding offering all wonderful escapes, and lastly but not least Rockwall is the Free Live Music Capital of North Texas.

He concluded the presentation by explaining the importance of volunteers within our community and expressed his gratitude. The floor was open to questions and Mayor Fowler gladly answered and assisted everyone. Brady Z. Hill followed up with the adjournment and before concluding the event he announced the raffle winner of Chamber swag bag.
